Get Ready For Our next ―Men’s Bible Study
We will be studying the “The Untold Story of the New Testament Church “ by Frank Viola. A Bible handbook that weaves Acts and the Epistles together chronologically creating one fluid story. The New Testament is often hard to understand. A major reason is because it is not arranged in chronological order. Paul's letters, for example, are arranged by size rather than chronologically. One famous Bible scholar said that reading the New Testament letters is like hearing one end of a phone conversation. We will reconstruct the other end so that we can understand virtually every word

We will:
- Get upclose and personal with apostles Paul, Peter, James and John and learn of their personal struggles. Understand the circumstances behind each inspired letter they penned. Watch the chaotic swirl of first century people and events fall into place before your very eyes. Discover what Paul's "thorn in the flesh" really was. Learn what happened to all the apostles after the book of Acts was finished. Be ushered into the living, breathing atmosphere of the first century and uncover the hidden riches found in God's Word.
- Discuss who the folks who wrote the New Testament were and how they were called.
- Study dates, maps, and background information about the people, the cities, and the events of the first century church using a "you-are-there" approach.
- Study the entire background, including the historical setting and sociological context, that lies behind each New Testament letter. We will learn what caused the New Testament authors to write their letters, when they wrote them, who they wrote them to, and what they were specifically addressing.
- Review the dates and times of all of the major events that occurred in the New Testament, including when each letter was written and where it was written from.
- Review the dates and times of the major historical events of secular history interwoven with the New Testament story.
Women’s Bible Study

Red Hat Society
Well
here we are, the company and the traffic are gone. It's as if someone
closed the door overnight. Although creature of habit that I am, I
still find myself sitting at the end of the Post Office driveway
daydreaming waiting for traffic that is no longer here to pass!! UGH, I
have to stop that. I thought that we would play tourist in our own
backyard and take a trip on the MOUNT. Thursday September 16th is the
date I have in mind. They cruise from 12:30 to 3:15 leaving from the
Wiers. The cost is $25.00 per person, $23.00 for seniors. There is a
full service grill and snack bar for a snack or lunch, which ever your
little old Red Hat heart desires. Per usual there will be a signup
sheet on the bulletin board. We will buy our tickets individually on
the day of the trip; that way it is less complicated if the weather
doesn't cooperate. We will meet at church at 10:30 and leave as close
to that as possible so we don't feel rushed. Until then, Stay Well
Ladies. Carol
SPIRIT RideOn September 9th we will be going to the Country Cow Restaurant in Campton for lunch! This is sort of like a home coming for the church family. Former Pastor Steve Seminerio and his wife, Marilyn, will be meeting us. Please try to join in. We will leave the church at 11:30. Please sign up in the fellowship hall if you can attend. We have to let the restaurant know how many will be there
Fellowship Hour
Volunteers are needed to provide refreshments for our morning fellowship hour after the 10:00 a.m. service. Please consider volunteering for a Sunday or two. The sign up sheet is located in the fellowship hall in front of the small kitchen.
“Walk to Emmaus”
Men’s Walk: Thurs. Sept. 30 – Sun. Oct. 3
Women’s Walk: Thurs. Oct. 14 – Sun. Oct. 17
Both of these spiritual and motivating learning experiences will be held at Notre Dame Retreat Center, in Alfred, Maine.
The weekend is a 72 hour event where one truly experiences God’s grace like never before. And to understand what “Christian love” is all about, where some say, “You ain’t seen nothing yet!”. This is life changing as all 21 Emmaus Community members from our church will testify to. Yes, there is a cost. For the three nights, eight delicious meals, all the snacks you can devour, and finding the Love of Jesus, for just $230 and you won’t even have to drive there; your Sponsor will do that and even more. Sounds good, right! And there’s more – just you wait and see!
“Walks” (especially Women’s) fill up early. The Men’s Walk for Oct. actually has a cut-off date of August 2nd but there may still be an opportunity if you are interested. For further information and questions see one of the Emmaus folks who wear green name tags or speak with Nancy Hanson, Barbara Kohls, Murray Nickerson, or Pastor Paul.
