Slide show and commentary by our mission team members.
The church in action with youth and adults on the recent mission trip to Mexico will share their experience. See the scenes and hear the experiences of labor of hands and labor of love. A difference was made in the lives of orphaned children thanks to the mission team and the support of MUMC members and friends.
So come and enjoy a great breakfast then sit back and enjoy the mission trip to Mexico. There will be time for questions of team members.
Any “fish” stories?
Spirit Ride
May 8th Spirit Ride Please note: Our plans have changed. We are not going to the Fuller Gardens as planned. Due to the long winter etc. they will not open until May 11th this year and they cannot guarantee that the tulips will still be in bloom. As they will not have any other flowers blooming at this time, we will plan to visit them later in the summer.
We will be visiting Jane Balshaw’s Studio in Canterbury, NH. Jane is a textile artist that spends most days in her studio working on projects commissioned by clients as varied as pastors, professional folk, interior designers and corporations. Her painted work encompasses many techniques – water color, “mono-printing,” block printing, brush work, stenciling, stamping, and computer printing, only to name a few.
Workshops are available at various times each year and her classes have been well received. Jane also has gallery showings for the purpose of public education with demonstrations and a showing of current work. We will be leaving the Church at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 8th and stop for breakfast along the way. We plan to arrive at Jane’s Studio by 11:00 a.m. for a demonstration or a show & tell of her tools and techniques and whatever work she is working on at that time. She plans to spend 45 or more minutes with our visit. We will then go to lunch someplace in the area and return back to the Church by 3:30 or 4:00 p.m.

THE BRIGHTER SIDE
There
once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and
noticed she had only three hairs on her head. Well, she said, “I
think I’ll braid my hair today.” So she did and she had a
wonderful day.
The
next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she only had
two hairs on her head. “Hmm,” she said, “I think I’ll part my
hair down the middle today.” So she did and she had a grand day.
The
next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had
only one hair on her head. “Well,” she said, “today I’m going
to wear my hair in a pony tail.” So she did and she had a fun,
filled day.
The
next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there
wasn’t a single hair on her head.
“YEAH!” SHE EXCLAIMED, “I don’t have to fix my hair today!
We
will meet at the Church on Wednesday, May
14th
at 12:00 p.m. and leave for the Whittier House for lunch. After
lunch we will go to the Bearcamp
Gardens on Rt. 25
in Ossipee for a tour of their greenhouses, shrubs and flowering
trees, etc. They have a great selection of plants and garden
accessories and are only too happy to offer suggestions and help on
all types of gardens.
Bring
a friend along for a great day and remember, WEAR YOUR RED HATS AND
SOMETHING PURPLE! We do have to dress in style. Please sign up in
Fellowship Hall if you plan to join us.
