Welcoming Ministry
Folks have commented on how attractive our church looks. I am extremely proud to be part of a committee that has worked together in recent years to make MUMC look welcoming and cheerful.
The new banner replaced the "old" one on Sept. 10th. Thanks to Steve Cantone for doing this task. The banner sends a profound message to people of all faiths.
The new brochure is now being passed out during worship services to first time visitors. Copies are available to church members in the office or from any W.M. committee member.
Revised visitor cards are now in the pews. The revisions request more info. so that we can better serve those who have visited MUMC.
The "card ministry" continues to send caring messages to folks who are infirmed, home bound, dealing w/ unsettling events, away @ college or are serving in the military. This ministry is coordinated by Jean Heckman. Connie Milner and Janet Stearns are active in this powerful outreach endeavor.
Plans are in the making for W.M. members to meet with other committee members to discuss how each of us can make a difference in the "feel" of our church to strangers who have chosen to worship with us. It is a responsibility that we all need to embrace.
