Welcoming Ministry
Our intent has been to have MUMC look alive, attractive and welcoming. With that in mind, two new gardens have been developed in front of the church. A flowering azalea has been planted in the "old" garden to the right of the front doors. This bush is supposed to have showy tangerine trumpet-like flowers to greet us in Springtime. The lilacs are scheduled for a serious trim in September to allow for new growth to flourish. This should complete the gardening activity in this area for this year.
Work continues in the development of a brochure for newcomers.
Several W.M. members have "adopted a spot" to keep tidy and attractive at all times. The committee will have a workshop in October to make crafts to be sold at the June 2011 church fair. Our next mtg. is scheduled for September 9, 2010 at 10:15 am.
